Sheera
Our wonderful companion Sheera passed away peacefully in our arms on November 21st at 9:45 a.m. She was almost 16 years old, and had been as wonderful companion to Brian and I for 15 1/2 years. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
I first saw her in late June 1992 after Brian's parent's 50th anniversary in Philly. We stopped at his sister Karin's house afterwards, and when the door opened, this wonderful dog jumped up on me. It was love at first sight. She was a stray who had followed nephew Jerry home from the 7-11. We told Karin that if she couldn't keep her, we would take her in. Within a week, she came to live with us in Washington.
That ball of energy could never stay still. Within the first few months, she took off in DC, followed a jogger to Alexandria, wound up in North Arlington when we had a house sitter, and was found so often within a 10 block radius of the house I can't even count the times. No yard could keep her in, as she loved to dig her way out. Luckily, we always got her back.
Sheera never met a person whose lap she wouldn't lay in. They say a dog is man's best friend. She certainly was ours.
Preparing a short video was my best way of saying goodbye. I uploaded it to Youtube for others to see and remember her. You can watch it by copying the URL below and pasting it to the web address list.

Thank you for all the kind words from so many people during the last difficult weeks. Please forward this on to anyone who was touched by Sheera over the years.
